Drawing from individual interests and artistic pursuits, the ARCVS triumvirate approaches the art of film with mingled reverence and curiosity such that no element becomes mere routine. From concept to script to costumes, props, cinematography, lighting, acting, directing, editing and the endless panoply of post-production, ARCVS embraces and effects the vast renaissance known so discreetly as "film."
Formed unofficially in 2002, ARCVS Productions has dedicated itself to the task of producing original short films off the beaten track traveled by many similar independent ventures. Just as the "period piece" has become the ARCVS hallmark, so do we often find ourselves at the wellspring of ideas and inspiration that history represents. Shirking the seduction of hollow novelty and all that is "pregnant with non-meaning," as one of our number was once heard to say, ARCVS seeks to create films both fresh and classical in their crafting and content.
With several official and unofficial productions to our credit--and with a handful always in various stages of development--ARCVS has competed in film competitions in or around Minnesota and carried off a respectable plunder of awards. In recent years, ARCVS has also carved out its niche among the fertile Twin Cities film community collaborating with notable actors, film technicians, and production companies on a variety of projects and is always hungry to pursue new ventures and opportunities.
